s.t.u.p.i.d.i.t.y.
I finally sat down to clear my very clustered desktop. Arranging everything in proper order is quite a task. I had the tendency this couple of weeks to just stare at the items on my desktop and wonder what the hell I needed to open…looks much better now =)
Was going through my iTunes just now and wondered where all my songs went to. I can’t believe I assumed I had burnt them all into DVDs and placed them in my folder. Now I can’t listen to awesome J-rock songs Aya passed to me or the fantastic ol’ songs I’ve collected over the years whenever I feel like it…they’re all back in Malaysia…CRAP X_X.
I am tempted to ask sis to burn them into DVDs and pass them to Uncle. I’ll probably mess up the instructions, she’ll probably cannot find what I want, since I hadn’t the time to arrange them folders properly…HEHE Who’s fault is that eh? Oh well, I can probably live without them.
I did however, manage to get my hands on five fine albums by Alicia Keys, Kylie, Plain White T’s, Sugababes & The Veronicas (the last two aren’t that new I think…) Next up is TSO’s Christmas Trilogy. YAY!!
Can’t exactly remember how I came across them. It must’ve been around this time last year when I was looking for Christmas tunes. Once I heard their version of The Nutcracker Suite/Mad Russian Christmas, I was in love! Then I made my ex-editor listen to it, he loved it found me some other songs by them…=D
Never knew Christmas songs could ever sound like that…Hmm, now I feel as though I’ve talked about this before.
I really should go and sit down at one corner and go through those six books I’ve borrowed from the Library, the sixth I collected just this afternoon. Well, I have sort of flipped through them but but…Help!!??
1. Magazine covers
2. Producing successful magazines, newsletters and ezines
3. Visual research
4. Grace: 30 years of fashion at Vogue
5. Design and the modern magazine
6. In Vogue: the illustrated history
Some of them has been sitting themselves pretty on my table for a couple of weeks already. I think I’ve got too many topics to go through but if I don’t do it, I’ll never understand what I want to do for my practice.
This must really show what a messed up individual I am…UGH
Now, I am in serious need of retail therapy. @.@ I haven’t shopped for a looong time. I miss going out to shopping malls, hanging out and window shopping with the girls, be it my sisters, ex-colleagues or friends. Sigh.
- I need to get another pair of boots. The one I’d gotten makes my feet hurt like hell. Thank goodness they weren’t expensive.
- I need to get a pair of shoes. Just in case my NB ones get wet in rain.
- I need another jacket/coat. Backup purposes.
- I need more socks. I am currently wearing two pairs at one go every time because is so cold, and uhm…my shoes has holes in them??
- I need a pair of skinny jeans. For fun!! LOL
- I need a few more turtleneck tops. I don’t know why I can’t get enough of them…besides, they protect me from cold…
- I need scarves, gloves and hats. All very necessary!
- I need to get a Christmas present for Uncle John…champagne maybe
- I want a hair styler. I want to have curls for Christmas…=P
- I want the SE W960i. Only available in Jan though.
- I want an iPod? He’s going to ask; What for?
- I want …
Gosh, the above sounds more like a wish list. Boxing day sale coming. Maybe I can get my parents, sisters and myself some cheap and nice stuff then. *prays*
He’s been working non-stop these two weeks. Almost 15 hours daily. Poor him. Poor me too. =( I only get to see him for two hours at night and two hours in the morning. But I really should be grateful that at least he’s here with me. I can’t imagine what it’d be like if… err… don’t even want to think about that now.
OK I shall shut up and go sleep now…

f.u.n.
Had a fantastic Sunday...if only I hadn't felt so sick! I am not sure if the blocked nose is symptoms that I'm getting better...@.@
Went out for an outing with a friend's mum, his uncle and another friend. The driver had to make a few stops and the first was Toys R Us. So many toys...(hehe) Initially wanted to get a set of figurines for Kathryn but decided otherwise. She's got too many of them already. It was sooooo cute...(hehe)
We then walked around Arndale aimlessly while waiting for the driver to run his errands. After an hour, we met up and walked to some of the Christmas Markets. There were so many people in the streets, buying Christmas presents, having beer at some stalls, queuing up for food or just standing around enjoying street performances.
The weather was cold by then and I had a bad headache because of my nose @.@ Forced meself to walk on with the others. They started taking pictures here and there. I snapped a few with my phone, not sure if they're clear or not though. Probably check later.
After that, we walked to Chinatown for a late lunch. Decided on dim sum@Pearl City Restaurant. Darling & I've been there with some friends the first Sunday we arrived and knew the food was good. What's best was seeing the delighted faces of our friend's mum and uncle after eating a good meal(Darling footed the bill which surprised them even more...hehe).
When they arrived a couple of weeks back, we went to a restaurant which was always crowded for their cheap dim sum. The food there was not very nice I can say. The only reason people queue up and wait for at least half n hour for a table is because it's cheap...quite sad...but who am I to judge eh?
Unfortunately, didn't manage to shop like we wanted to. I think weekend shopping is just too crazy over here...will have to go one of these days, don't want to still be sick during Christmas...
Uncle is coming...YAY!

r.a.n.d.o.m.
Not much has been happening lately. Am at home most of the time because of the weather, unless there are tutorials and lectures to attend. Did not attend Thursday's lectures though; had quite a high fever and seriously couldn't get out of bed.
Felt a little better on Friday morning and trotted off to the Learning Record Workshop. I should start being less lazy...@.@...Stopped by the fruit/veg stall to get some tomatoes and hurried back home. Abandoned the plan of going to the library because of the cold. I need to get myself more thermal wear...cannot imagine how cold it can get in the next few weeks...
Last night's trip to ASDA was crazy. It was freezing cold and I had difficulty breathing due to me half-blocked nose and sore throat. Car roofs had a layer of ice on them ^^...If it was colder and rained, I'd have seen snow...hehe
He just got back with his schedule for next week. 82.5 hrs!!?? Poor darling...but told him to look on the bright side, there's more savings XD (and maybe a new phone?)Talking about phones, he's Motorola's screen looks like it's split. Perfect timing ~haha Too bad I've got to wait till Jan for the W960i to come out.
Bummer!

I want, I want...XD
CS3 is freaking awesome!!! Even though this proclamation is a few months' late, I still want to say it ~ LOL
Attended the
Adobe Creative Suite 3 Campus Tour at my Uni this morning. The whole suite is simply amazing. While they were showing us how to use some of the tools, I kept thinking about how tedious it was to do it back when I was in VM. I am sure those who'd been working with me before would understand...hehe
Yea yea sure,
Adobe is making us lazy but I feel that this would encourage better productivity(in VM maybe? Keke...) and there's more time to do more artwork! Err...not like I have been doing any...LOL
Sooo...I wonder if anyone is willing to sponsor me the whole
Adobe CS3 Design Premium suite ^^
In other news, I am happy that I can come up with ideas whilst Clinton was having the group discussion today. Although I am still at odds on how to start with the learning agreement and learning record, I hope I will be able to understand what I, myself want to do.
Lots more research to do; maybe I will post questions on
Facebook eh...it could help!
Laterz!

No Title
"It's already 3:00AM, why am I not asleep?"
Celebrated Darling's birthday yesterday(err...sort of). I wasn't allowed to buy a cake("...because it's not necessary; he says"). Then again, I had no idea where to get one in the first place. Hadn't come across any bakery/cake shops here(weird...).
Oh well, we dropped by
URBIS for the
Manchester Craft Mafia Markets and the D&AD exhibition. Wasn't that impressed though. It was nice but not mind-blowing. We then met up with Edmund & Jon for dinner and our weekly shopping trip to Home Bargain & ASDA.
Woke up this morning(Sun) to go shopping at Primark. I don't think I spent a lot, will rather keep myself warm than get myself sick and go to the doctor. Weather is getting horribly cold. Time is shorter too; the sun sets at 4:30PM daily. Can't imagine what winter will be like really...@.@
Got into a silly argument few hours back. He drank a Bud and went to sleep. Malas to layan. Wasn't even bothered. (Sigh...why do some guys like to be arseholes!)
Maybe I should really go back to reading Auge's "From Places to Non-Places"...
