Happy 2008!
It is about 8 hours to 2008. It's already 2008 in Aus. It'll be soon for M'sia + Singapore. Will it be a good or bad year? I suppose I can't really say but what I can do is hope for the best. Haven't any new year resolutions...hmm...not that I actually had any before this.
What I really want for this year is to do well in my course, exhibit my work at the end of it and find work here or London. Don't really feel like going back to Malaysia for now. It's not that I don't miss my parents/family but at the moment, education and career comes first. I wasn't really going anywhere in my job previously anyway.
Of course, I would want to travel Europe when I have time. And get my visa extended for as long as possible.(Hee...)
So many things to do, yet so little time @.@
I suppose everyone else in the world is going through the same phase. When will everything ever be enough?
Here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Enjoy yourselves and be happy always.
Love always,
Cyn

London: sightseeing + shopping
Didn't do much yesterday 'cept walked around in Luton town in the afternoon and went for dinner at an Auntie's new house.
We woke up real early this morning for a pre-planned sightsee & shopping trip in London. First stop was the British Airways London Eye. Quite good timing for us because we could get tickets immediately and hopped on. We then parted ways with Rich(he was off to Selfridges) and walked towards Tate Modern.
Crossed the river on foot and took some pics outside St Paul's Cathedral. Then, we took the tube and headed to Covent Garden where the shopping part of the trip started(@.@) Uncle & Darling each bought a pair of shoes at Shellys. We did walk into almost every shoe shop we could see.
Rich came along later and we had lunch. We walked on towards Piccadilly Circus, half of Oxford Street and then on the Knightsbridge to Harvey Nichols. Harrods was closed since the sale will only start tomorrow. The amount of people on the streets shopping...is scary. I don't think I'll ever come down during the sales period in London ~ anymore...haha (I wonder how bad it was yesterday though...)
My legs were starting to give way around 5 and we were still walking =(. Finally stopped shopping and went for dinner at Pizza Express. We slowly made our way back to Luton around 10 plus where Uncle John picked us. Everyone was exhausted but I think those who shopped got good bargains.
Gotta go pack up for the trip back tomorrow. Heading off to Liverpool and then Manchester.
Oh, everyone and myself is amazed I didn't buy anything from the sales...HAHA

First English Christmas
Woke up this morning to find Christmas stockings hanging outside the bedroom door. They're full of little gifts. I'd gotten white chocolate coins, "the stig" keychain, a football game, sweets, chocolates and a mouse.
Auntie called from Perth and everyone took turns talking to everyone. Then I skype-d back home and again, everyone spoke to everyone. We didn't really have much to do 'cept wait for the turkey to roast in the oven. Apparently, there's a smaller crowd at the Youngs' this year.
We finally sat down for the Christmas meal around 2 plus I think. Couldn't exactly polish our plates clean because there was so much to eat. The ham and turkey weren't even half eaten @.@
For some weird reason, time passed by so slowly today. We went out for a walk after clearing up the table. Once we got back, we gathered around the Christmas tree and presents were distributed. Got myself two red scarves, a pair of red gloves, chocs from NY, coin purse and a 8GB thumb drive. Darling received a pair of gloves, a scarf, a small bottle of XO(haha) and a hat.
Okay, off to watch Love Actually now.
Muakks!

Christmas Eve
Reached Milton Keynes Coachway at quite a good time. Fortunately, there were no delays and the motorway was quite clear. I suppose those who'd want to go home would've already gone home...hehe
We had "char siu bao", "dou sa bao", "lien yong bao" & rice dumplings for dinner. Then we helped Uncle John with preparations for Christmas Day lunch/dinner. Not really bothered to post piccies up here. They'll be on FB though...haha
We're sitting by the Christmas tree, watching television and waiting for the clock to strike midnight.
Merry Christmas people.
Love,
Cyn

s.h.o.p.p.i.n.g.
Yesh! Am finally done with Christmas shopping. It's rather unfortunate I am not able to get everyone presents since I'm not working part time...@.@ They'll probably already have whatever that I can think of anyway...^^ So I bought general presents...
Purchases include;
1. M&S scarves
2. Per Una cap
3. Moet&Chandon Brut Imperial
4. ZARA dress
5. BHS boots
6. Principles top
7. Peacocks jeans
8. Thornton chocs
Shopping is unhealthy I tell you. Boxing day sale coming *feels like hiding*
Anyway, I should start packing for the trip to Luton. Uncle has left his camera charger back home. Maybe I should get a replacement from here...
I'm going back to being lazy now...Kekeke

d.i.s.t.r.a.c.t.i.o.n.s.
Was up till 0330 on Thursday double checking and expanding on my learning agreement. Couldn’t sleep after that. The clock’s ticking made it even worse.
Woke up at 0730 to get breakfast ready for him and then got myself ready for lectures at 0930. Didn’t want to go back to sleep since I have the bad habit of NOT wanting to wake up. So far, I am glad I hadn’t missed any of the lectures except for the one week I was feeling under the weather.
MGP is having problems now. Sigh. A little to late but what’s done is done I suppose. Now, I still have to write that paragraph that explains the symbol that I came out with. Ugh. Why do I hate writing so much now?
The seminar was quite short that day. A little embarrassed about how I couldn’t relate my research to the reader when Clinton asked about it. I sort of understood it but for some odd reason, I wasn’t able to connect it to my research.
Had to stay back for the feedback on my learning agreement. Waited for an hour and a half for him to get to me and the feedback was kind of short. I kept looking at the clock because I had an appointment to collect my baby from the repair centre at 1800. Thankfully Clinton say it was a better draft. Still need to work on it…
Rushed back, emptied my bag and walked to the bus stop near the flat with him(who had to come back early because there was no gas at the restaurant…lol). @.@ If I hadn’t the warranty, I would have had to pay almost 500 pounds for the repair…yikes
Met up with E, his mum & uncle and J for dinner at Chinatown after that.
Dinner was good and it was E’s treat. I stayed up till 0200 Friday morning, looking at timetables for trains and buses to Luton. Still need him to go ask about taking leave for Christmas.
Slept another 5 hours and woke up to fix breakfast for him. I fell back asleep when he left and dragged myself up around 1030 to get ready for the appointment with Michelle at 1100.
Had reassurances from Michelle about the stuff that I’d done. I seriously need to figure out my ultimate aim for this MA. Hopefully all this messed up research and help from the tutors will make me realize what it is. Sometimes I don’t understand how I got to this point.
Damn, there’s a presentation on Thursday and I haven’t really started sketching out anything proper. After talking to Kathryn about it, was given another perspective to it. Is quite a waste she’s not taking design but I think this psychology thing is not too bad either…
I am currently annoyed with myself for not drawing anymore. Can’t really remember when was the last time I actually sat down with a blank piece of paper and started drawing. Hmm…I think it was before SPM…@.@
Quite stupid of me to not practice. I love drawing or rather used to love it. Argh. What’s with me? Why didn’t I practice? Aren’t I supposed to be creative? Sigh.
Was supposed to go shopping today because he only needed to start work at 1700. Didn’t want to wake up.(again…*hits head*) It was raining and well, after last weekend, I didn’t really feel like it when it’s real crowded with everyone doing their Christmas shopping.
Really need to shop though. Don’t know why I don’t bother doing it myself anymore. Oh well, hopefully he’s off on a day when I don’t have to go for class next week. Another pair of hands to carry stuff…haha
