plans don't really work
We didn't actually go according to plan today. Managed to get onto the 9:38a.m. East Midlands Train to St Pancras. Had to stand the whole way though -_- Then, walked to the tube station. My feet started to hurt from those killer heels but I didn't give in. Got some maps and felt a little weird. It didn't make sense to me like it used to. Ugh. Rusty brain. -_-Made our way to Queensway(accidentally got off at Lancaster Gate) after that. Like I said, I knew I wanted to get to Bayswater but the damn map made no sense to me for unknown reasons. None of the restaurants were opened and we weren't exactly keen on spending money eating fast food, so we opted to sit@Starbucks and wait till noon.
Finally got to taste the highly recommended roasted duck@Four Seasons. (even though they've got another branch in China Town, the food here tastes whole lot better apparently) There were actually quite a number of people waiting outside the shop and they got in once the "open" sign was turned. Don't really know to explain but the duck was so good. Dearie had two noodle dishes in case he got hungry whilst at the Motor Show.
We decided we hadn't enough time to go for Street Art Exhibition@ Tate Modern and got back onto the Tube towards the DLR station@Bank and Excel London. Got to see other parts of London, may want to go some other time just to take pictures next time. I think by then my steps became smaller and smaller...-_-
Finally gave into the pain and changed into my flip-flops. Can die. No more walking in heels for me =( Took tons of pictures of the cars. Not many supercars and noticed some higher end car manufacturers weren't exhibiting. Dearie got serious checking out some of the cars on display. Like he was going to buy them tomorrow...LOL
Dinnertime, we met up with Will, Sharon, Rich n Liz. Will had mentioned on the phone we were going to one of the restaurants in China Town we'd been to previously. I didn't tell Dearie because he hadn't liked the place. Don't really know how we ended up at the Four Seasons@China Town(haha) We'd ordered 8 dishes, some good, some so-so. We were so full by the time we finished.
Didn't know what to do after dinner. Dessert? Couldn't eat anymore. Drinks? Some of us had to work the next day and well, Dearie and I had already spent £100 in total that day, we opted not to. Got onto the early train back to Luton and just chilled out. Will was asking where we'd gone during lunch and didn't sound too happy when I mentioned it. I didn't mind really because we had different dishes at dinner, but ... oh well nevermind.
Next time, I'll just suggest going for Japanese ... (too lazy to post pics here...uploaded the whole bunch to FB =P)

in another world
I've been in Luton for the past 7 days.The journey down on Mon was slow. I had very disturbed naps, partly because the person who sat behind me, kept kicking at the back of my seat and was also making so much noise it gave me a migraine. Arrived at MK a little later than scheduled and my feet started to hurt from the new heels.
Spent some days reformatting notebooks, helping out around the house, helping cook dinner and just sitting around listening to conversations. Hadn't done much on my own work but did read quite a bit. Sigh, now I need to update the damn LA. This term feels difficult because we don't see our tutor much, which really annoys me. So many questions and he takes forever to get back to me...
Currently wondering whether we'd be going down to London next week. Just a day-trip as usual. Maybe go for the British Int'l Motor Show. Hmm...
Been eating three full-heavy meals daily...in addition to tea time and after-dinner dessert...(sob) will gain so much weight...argh...

b.d.a.y.
no idea why I am still awake at this hour. feeling lonely + pathetic.First birthday in UK. Feels loved from all the wishes on my mobile, MSN + Facebook. Thank you everyone who remembered.
Woke up fairly early and got ready to follow Uncle+Dearie out. While they settled their matters, I walked around Luton's Arndale Centre and stocked up some toiletries as well as got myself two pairs of bedroom slippers. Went back home and started fixing Rich's notebook driver problems.
Finally it worked. Did spend quite some time on it. Was also finalising the software+updates on Uncle's laptop. Somehow I became an IT technician these past two days. I actually enjoy doing it but hates it when things don't work. Can't ignore the problems either because it's just stuck somewhere at the back of my brain. I go through such crazy procedures to get everything working.
Why am I not applying this attitude towards my work? I am trying very hard. (SOB)
Gathered at a M'sian restaurant for the birthday dinner somewhere quite far from Luton. I think the place was called Welwyn Garden City. Dishes were good, taste very close to home. There was a band playing at the restaurant and there was a birthday song request. The whole restaurant patrons started singing birthday song(paiseh).
I don't think I even made a wish before blowing out the candle. Just didn't think of it. Sigh. Oh well, too late for that now. Thanks to Uncle John, Aunt Margaret, Uncle Bryan, Aunt Irene, William, RIchard, Sharon+Dearie for celebrating with me.
Dearie footed the bill and got shocked stares from everyone. HAHA. Was funny to look at their expressions really, even though I'd already expected that to happen.
Okay. It's good that I am feeling sleepy now. Happy Birthday to myself now...belated(because it's a quarter to 2:00a.m.)

another nightmare
We were in a carpark. I somehow slapped you. (Note; I think I know who you are but I am not sure). You ran off. I walked up to the lift area. There were a number of people. Sudden flash of light. Then these two ladies started crying and screaming. Like it was the end of their world.All of a sudden, the whole building went black. Like, something zapped all the energy out of it. It suddenly felt seriously HOT. Turned my back and saw that the place was on fire. Quickly ran towards the entrance of the carpark. The fire was quite strong but I quickly ran through it.
There were many people gathered outside the building. I was trying to reach for my phone and called Dearie. He says he's eating at the canteen and will be out shortly. I just kept screaming for him to hurry and started crying so bad. Everything else became a blur. The world seemed like it was spinning.
I woke up. Heart beat was seriously fast.

keeping to the minimum
I think this is probably the first time my Macbook's been quite so empty. Have got no directions how to go about collecting all the information I had bookmark-ed the other time around. I don't think I'm even going to bother installing anything extra. Just Mercury + Divx + Skype + whatever else I need to do my work. Hah...I am not even going to do any customisation(or is it customization...)
Had a long chat with Mum+Dad. Good to know everything's alright. I find that I'm resourceful at times and I should be proud of that no? I miss them lots, motivating me even more to NOT let them down.
Pray less, do MORE...HAHA

I did go window shopping after all. Collected my dry-cleaning(might never go again unless really f*ck*n neccessary). Stopped by several shops to see if I could find what I needed to find. Didn't find any...sigh. Finally stopped by ZARA to have a peek at the coats. Actually managed not to look at anything else HAHA. The coats that I liked, they'll all from the new collection. Crap. Always happens to me. Hopefully they'll be on sale later.
When I got home, I noticed there were two missed calls from the Apple Centre. Sh*t. Called them back but that guy told me they only wanted to inform me that the notebook was under diagnosis. So scared but praying very hard for my data.
Received a letter from the letting agency asking if we wanted to renew our contract. Must remember to inform them tomorrow through email. I was so hungry that I quickly cooked a pack of instant noodle and showered. After that, I had snacks. I think I should pack some sandwiches for the library session tomorrow.
Started reading that Stephen King book I bought ages ago but lost interest very quickly. I only managed 38 pages. And here I am back on the table writing this out...

I didn't sleep well last night. But I don't feel very tired though. It's possible my afternoon nap helped. Actually, I have been having pretty weird dreams lately. Can't really explain why it's happenening. This time, everyone was dressed in ancient Chinese costumes. I also dreamt about looking at touche-screen magazines. Sigh. I must be going MAD.It's the 2nd day wihout my not-so-lovely Macbook. I admit it, I am too dependent on it. Can't argue. It's my source for basically everything. I am currently waiting for the library staff to get me an old thesis which I believe might help me write my option unit essay. I pray that it does really.
Maybe I'll go window shopping again on the way back. Now is a good time to start thinking about losing more weight...HAHA
I miss Dearie. Even though I speak to him several times a day. It's so hard to live alone sometimes...

rainy days & mondays
Woke up several times this morning. Had weird dreams filled with people at shopping malls and alien invasions. Walked in the rain to Arndale Apple Centre to set up an appointment at the Genius Bar. As I had suspected, it seemed like my hard drive had crashed. My God, I really wish I had all the information backed up those few days I was so free. I am incredibly worried about the images I need to use for my Learning Record this time around. The girl was saying that they might not be able to save it. Now I can't really remember what else was in my Macbook. Please please let them be able to recover and transfer my data into the new hard disk. I promise I'll back up everytime. Or rather, I do not think I will ever save anything into the Macbook hard disk ever again. I had not expected the hard drive to be that vulnerable really. Please please let there be a way to recover and transfer all my data. I promise I'll donate money to the unfortunate whenever possible. Maybe I'll go sponsor a child. Must check out to see if the organisations are reliable first.
Can't believe that it hasn't even been a year yet from the date I purchased the Macbook and I have already sent it into repair twice. Why me? Sigh.
I did some shopping after that and walked back in heavy rain. The apartment's so quiet without Dearie around. No computer. No music('cept for the songs on my SE). Just me and my belongings. Not pathetic. Just lonely. Must think positive and pray really hard. Maybe I'll consider getting myself a radio...and maybe NOT.
OK. No more lamenting. Will go rely on my faithful SE as my only source of entertainment and my sketchbook as my blog. HAHA. -_-

tears
Just when I feel a little bit more motivated to work more, my lovely Macbook decided to die on me.(again!) Well it didn't exactly die but it just doesn't want to start up again. Tried reading the manual and reviving it but to no avail.Smarta$$ me did not back up recent files(again!) I can't believe I had actually thought of backing up after restarting the Macbook and that's when things went terrbily wrong. I can't exactly remember what's in it right now.
Come to think of it, I do sort of remember that I had transfered all the images from my phone into the notebook. Sh*t! Godz, I can't believe I didn't save another copy in my portable hard drive. I do need those images for evidence of practice for my diploma stage.
