st albans & roast dinner
Aunty Evelyn dropped by the farm today and we gathered for a group photo and quick bite from last night's leftovers. Min went back to London while Will and Sharon stayed back to help around the house. She then drove me, Dad, Mum and Uncle to St Albans, a nearby town. Picturesque town I should say, with its cathedral and parks...lovely. Took more photos inside the cathedral when Mum Dad and Aunty followed the tour.
After probably two hours, we walked towards the oldest pub in UK, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks. Got ourselves some drinks at the bar and I noticed the sewing hanging on the wall. It was the exact same picture that Grandma had in her house. Made sure I took a shot to show it to her...hehehe
It was a really funny building to be in. The ceilings were quite low and we were discussing how much people have grown over the years. HAHA After the drinks, we drove out in search of the Roman wall; there wasn't much left of it really.
It started raining again so we drove back to Aunty Evelyn's house in Hemel Hempstead for a lovely pot of Japanese green tea and some chocolate cake. Interestingly enough, her birthday fell on the same day as Min's.
Did a short drive after that to see some old houses, the canals and barges nearby. We then headed back to the farm for Uncle John's roast dinner. Yummy!!! Did however regret not taking a photo of my plate to show Ying how each person's portion would look like...

He'd been trying to show my parents the English way of life ever since they got here. ^^ They actually made bets about whether they were gonna lose or gain weight after their UK & Europe trip...sigh
OK...better go start the dishwasher now
